Kennedy Innovations offers generic webservices on a a free or a subscription basis. All partners and collaborators can use these services without cost in limited volume. If you would like to use one of our services to power a production application with high volume please contact use and we can enable a robust, scalable version for you.

Zip Code Distance Service

The Zip Code Distance Service allows 3 different Zip Code related functions. With the Zip Code Service you can:

Calculate the distance between 2 zip codes
Find all the Zip Codes within a specific distance of a given Zip Code
Find information about a given Zip Code

The first 25 daily uses are free to people who register with Kennedy Innovations (Registration is Free). The First 50 Lookups are free to people who provide a link to Kennedy Innovations on their site. If you would like to use the service more than that, we require you to subscribe using one of the options below for as little as $150 a month.

The Zip Code Service is locate at the following URL:

To locate the distance between 2 Zipcodes you use the following inputs:

action=distance
from=[starting zipcode]
to=[ending zipcode]
Example: To calculate the discance between 02026 and 01520 you would use the following URL: http://www.kennedyinnovations.com/services/kizip/kizip.php5?action=distance&from=02026&to=01520

To get all the Zipcodes within the distance of a specific URL you use the following inputs:

action=range
from=[starting zipcode]
distance=[miles away from starting zipcode]
Example: To get all the zipcodes (in order by distance) within 12 miles of 02026 you would use the following URL:http://www.kennedyinnovations.com/services/kizip/kizip.php5?action=range&from=02026&distance=12

The Tax Service is new and currently only allows 1 function but more are comming. With the Tax Service you can:

To look up the Sales Tax Rate for a State you use the following inputs:

action=statesales
for=[State Abbreviation]
Example: To find the State Sales Tax for New York State you would use the following URL: http://www.kennedyinnovations.com/services/kitax/kitax.php5?action=statesales&for=NY

Note: The return value is in Decimal Form: 4.00 would mean the tax rate is 4%.
